BECAUSE YOUR MESSAGE MATTERS
SFB Translation Services
SFB Translation Services stands for Stefanie Fritzi Böttcher, a name that is synonymous with professional translation and proofreading services. First and foremost, I specialise in translations that do not sound translated.
A correct target-language text in terms of content and language is the minimum that customers should be able to expect from a professional translator. I am convinced that really good translations also stand out for being easy to understand, written in a good style with careful wording that suits the audience. They must read well, conveying the content in a way that is easy to absorb while taking into account the intended readership and purpose. Technical and linguistic precision in a clear, idiomatic form – that is the core of my translation philosophy, and I strive to meet these standards every day.
law
No matter whether you are a company, private individual or law firm and you require my services for a contract, certificate, expert opinion or the particulars of a claim, I always offer the highest degree of precision in terms of content as well as a firm grasp of the correct terminology, even for complex cases.
MEDIcINe
Do you work in the healthcare sector or in the field of medical technology or pharmaceuticals? If so, I would be pleased to translate your information material, product presentations, clinical study documents, medical reports and much more – with in-depth knowledge, a keen eye for the target text requirements and a strong passion for medicine.

Pricing
The price of my translation services is based on the amount of translated text. Normally, the unit measurement I use is a standard line, which corresponds to 55 keystrokes (including spaces). I also offer the calculation based on the total word count. The rate per line or per word depends on a number of factors:
Difficulty
Is the translation particularly demanding in terms of content? Does it require extensive research?
Text type
Are there special requirements due to the nature of the text? For instance, online texts that advertise or promote a product or service call for careful wording in order to appeal to readers.
Layout and file format
How much formatting work is involved? Is the original text provided in a format that can be edited, and can this be used as a template for the translation?
Legibility
Is the job particularly time-consuming because some of the text is difficult to read? A typical example of this would be handwritten entries on certificates.
Urgency
Does the order need to be completed as a matter of priority? Does it require overtime or weekend work?
So that you know in advance how much the final translation will cost, I use the length of the source text as a basis for the price calculation. You simply send me the text to be translated, and I determine the number of lines or words involved before giving you a fixed quotation that sets out all the costs in transparent fashion. As a result, the final invoice will not contain any nasty surprises. Naturally, your documents will be treated confidentially, and they will be deleted immediately if no order is placed.
For very short documents such as certificates, I charge a flat-rate fee because the cost of processing, formatting and other related tasks cannot be covered by the line price alone. A minimum value of EUR 45 applies to such orders
For certified translations, a standard certification fee of EUR 10 per document is applied in addition to postage costs. Certified translations must always be sent as a hard copy by mail: I am happy to provide you with an electronic version, but this will not be valid for official institutions and public authorities.
For editing and proofreading services, I charge a fixed hourly rate because the amount of time spent on a job is not always directly proportional to the amount of text. My standard rate is EUR 60 per hour.
